FANNIE MAE HELP THE HOMELESS WALKATHON - NOVEMBER 19TH, 2011

NAI staff member, Patricia Hannaway and family members joined the Team Destination DC on a brisk November morning to help feed the homeless in Washington , D.C. Walkers were allowed to register their dogs and we had the opportunity to see dogs of every kind small and large covered in their colorful vests to ward off the early morning chill in the air. Present were several local media personnel and our Mayor Vincent Gray who gave a short speech and started us off on the walk. The walk took us around the Tidal Basin and the highlight of the walk was seeing the Martin Luther King Memorial up close and personal and taking a picture (attached). It is impressive and for those who haven’t seen it is worth a visit.

Force Rediness and Deployment Honoree

Jean Battle Lee is currently working in the office of Force Rediness and Deployment within the Office of the Surgeon General in Rockville, Md. At present, Ms. Battle is providing administrative services to many Army officials as well as extending compassion to many military families. Ms. Lee is being honored by the Deputy Surgeon General, Gen. Lushniak for outstanding service. NAI Personnel salutes Jean for a job well done and congratulates her for receiving this service award. Way to go Jean~

NAI Dream Team Event

The NAI Dream Team participated in the 2011 Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure for the 5th Year. With our nation’s Capitol Building as a backdrop, nearly 40,000 people gathered early on Saturday on the National Mall to participate in the 22nd running of the Komen Global Race for the Cure in Washington, D.C. Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, Susan G. Komen for the Cure founder and CEO, noted that the sea of pink making their way up to the National Mall was a bold statement by this community that we will not rest until our promise to end breast cancer forever is fulfilled. Together, we raised more than $5 million to fund breast cancer programs for women in need throughout the National Capital Area and across the globe! The NAI Dream Team looks forward to greater participation and fundraising in 2012. Thank you to all those who donated and participated!
